Emily & Isla

Hi & welcome to my first ever Savvy Blog where I will be sharing photos from
recent & past photo shoots which will include images from all of the categories
listed on my website.
Savvy Photography is a fairly new Photographic Studio here in Perth, Western
Australia. I started doing the photography as a part time business in 2008 while
holding down a job at the same time. We have been blessed to be the official
Sacramental photographers for the Communion & Confirmation Ceremonies for
Our Lady of the Mission Catholic Parish in Craigie for the last three years. Taking
photos of the children during the Ceremony & also taking Family Portraits both
before & after the Ceremony for those families who want them.
We have come to know many of the families during that time & have now taken
photos of some families for several years running as each of their children
receives their Communion & Confirmation. It is a very special day for the
children & their families & we try to capture as much of the proceedings as we
can while at the same time aware that it is a sacred moment and try to be as
unobtrusive as we can. A lot of parents tell me that they didn’t even notice us
there taking their child’s photo during the Ceremony and are amazed at the
images we have been able to capture for them. It is now only 5 weeks till this
years Communion Ceremony & I am looking forward to seeing all the lovely
children and families again.
Max & I decided only 2 weeks ago that it was time for me to start working full
time with the business , so I stepped out in faith. Well, when you pray you must
expect to get an answer & I certainly did. At the end of the first week Keryn
contacted me to do a portrait shoot of her adorable little girls Emily & Isla.
We first had the pleasure of shooting Keryn & Damon’s wedding back in 2009,
then last year I had the pleasure of taking Isla’s baby photos when she was only 6
weeks old. Isla is now 11 months old & her sister Emily is two & a half, so as you
can imagine, full of life.
Keryn brought Emily & Isla into my Studio on Thursday for their first shoot
together. Keryn & I had a full on fun time while capturing these beautiful images
of these cute little sisters. I love the sweet one of Emily comforting Isla when she
has a tearful moment. I am sure these two sisters will be close as they grow up to
be gorgeous young women. I can’t wait to see them again next time Keryn brings
them to the studio.

P.S.
‘I also want to thank the lovely lady at Baker’s Delight at Whitford City for letting
me have the pink balloons & pink lady cut outs that I used in Emily & Isla’s photo
shoot. The girls loved them & got to take a balloon home with them’.
